Last summer my sister Kate died of a heart defect. Here favorite color was purple, so the town generously put up many purple ribbons around trees, and all kinds of other things to remember her. Kate always liked to make new things out of trash, or used things like water bottles, or used boxes. Mr. Bennett came up with the idea to make benches from the plastic being used. Unfortunately, there were not enough purple ribbons, (although there were many) to make an entire bench. So, Mr. Bennett started to collect normal plastic bags for the benches.
Now we are trying to continue making benches. Specifically, a buddy bench. The idea is that if you do not have anybody to play with, you sit on the bench and a friend would come up, and play with you. You can donate plastic to Benches for Kate, for more of these great benches.
